The students got an opportunity to interact with internationally placed alumni from all specializations\, who shared their success stories which helped the students to understand various opportunities for higher education and careers available in the areas of Home Science. \nThe program was inaugurated at the hands of Dr. Poornima Chikarmane\, Ex Assistant Director\, department of Lifelong Learning and Extension\, SNDT WU\, Pune. Principal Dr. Muktaja Vikas Mathkari addressed the students and the alumni.

DESCRIPTION:Guest lecture on “Careers in UPSC/MPSC for Home Science students” was arranged for first year students on 3rd February 2021. It was well appreciated by 100 students and staff of the college. The guest speaker was Mrs. Sandhya Nagarkar\, Assistant Commissioner\, Women and Child Welfare\, Government of Maharashtra who guided the students regarding preparation for such examinations by narrating her own example. Principal\, Dr. Muktaja Vikas Mathkari highlighted the importance of competition examinations like UPSC and MPSC and considering civil services as one of the career options. \n

SUMMARY:Inauguration of Fitness Centre
DESCRIPTION:Honourable Vice-Chancellor Professor Shashikala Wanjari inaugurated the ‘Fitness Centre’ at SNDT Women’s University Pune campus. Program was organized by SNDT College of Home Science on 3rd February 2021 as a part of women empowerment initiative. The renovation of the fitness Centre has been possible through the donations received in the memory of late Dr. Sulochana Patil. The centre will be available for the students and staff from the campus as well as all women in Pune city. \n

DESCRIPTION:The College and WIMA (Women Entrepreneur and Industrialist of Maharashtra) jointly organized ‘Business Exhibition’ on 8th February 2021. During the inaugural session\, Pune campus in charge and Principal\, Dr. Muktaja Vikas Mathkari stated the importance of such initiative in women empowerment and threw light on Maharshi Karve’s vision about Women Empowerment. She also brought out how the motto of the University ‘Sanskrita Stri Parashakti’ helps the students of Home Science to break the myths about Home Science and excel in their career and achieve name and fame as entrepreneurs. Ms. Preeti Deshmukh\, the president of WIMA expressed her desire to have association in future with Home Science College so as to work for women upliftment and empowerment. \n

DESCRIPTION:On 22nd February 2021\, Honorable Dr. Neelamtai Gorhe\, Deputy Chairman of Maharashtra Legislative Council\, Maharashtra State\, inaugurated M.Sc. Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics program using digital platform. Two Nutrition laboratories developed from financial support by Late Dr. Sulochana Patil and Mr. Umesh Walekar were also inaugurated by Honorable Dr. Neelamtai Gorhe. In her address\, he mentioned that the contribution of Home science students is not restricted only to India but has gone Global. She emphasized that Nutrition graduates from this college should contribute towards reducing the incidence of malnutrition and create awareness among the society regarding Nutrition and Health. \nIn her inaugural address Dr. Neelamtai Gorhe specifically mentioned that initiative taken by SNDT College of Home Science\, is commendable since SBDT does not only provide job opportunities but also creates skilled human resources and thereby contributes to the nation. \nPrincipal\, Dr. Muktaja Vikas Mathkari was the convener of the program. It was attended by Smt. F. Z. Tarapore\, Ex Principal\, SNDT College of Home Science\, Pune\, teaching and non-teaching staff of college and the students. \n  \n  \n \n
