DESCRIPTION:Orientation programme of SNDT College of Home Science Pune was organized on Teacher’s Day\, September 5th\, 2022. It was arranged for first year undergraduate and post graduate students. The students\, their parents\, teaching and non-teaching staff of the college attended the program. Principal Prof. Sachin Deore briefed about various courses; value added courses and importance of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities for the overall development of students. Students were informed about various specializations of Home Science by the heads of the department. They also highlighted the career opportunities in their respective specializations. The students were also informed about the examination system\, timetables\, cultural activities\, NSS\, and other co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. \n

SUMMARY:A workshop on “FSS Act 2006 and Regulations 2011-An Overview”
DESCRIPTION: A workshop on “FSS Act 2006 and Regulations 2011- An Overview” was organized by SNDT College of Home Science\, Pune and AFST (I)\, Pune chapter on September 7th\, 2022 on the occasion of Nutrition month and AFST (I) foundation day. Prof. Sachin Deore\, Principal\, SNDT College of Home science\, Pune welcomed the participants and also highlighted the vision and mission of SNDT Women’s University. Col. Pramod Dahitule\, National Head- Agriculture MSME\, Former Director FSSAI Kolkata\, was the chief guest for the program. He inspired the student by sharing the importance of having a passion and belief in what they are pursuing in education. Mr. M.M Chitale\, a renowned person in the field of food processing was the guest of honor. The program was attended by Dr. S.M. Naikare\, former President of AFST(I) Pune Chapter\, Mr. Pradeep Chordia\, Director CFPL\, Pune\, Dr. Nerkar\, Director Food Testing Laboratory\, Bharti Vidyapeeth\, Pune\,  Mr. Vinay Oswal\, Director NAFARI\, Pune. \nThe speaker Mr. Amrendra Mahamuni\, (Director Samarth Technologies\, Pune. FoSTaC Trainer) in his session elaborated on the FSS Act 2006 and regulations 2011. He also emphasized on the difference in the roles of PFA and FSSAI. A lot of case studies were discussed by the speaker regarding the degree of adulteration seen in India and why the FSS becomes important to make the food safe for the consumers from the farm to fork. \nThe organizing committee included Ms. Anuja Kinikar\, Head\, Dept. of Food Science and Nutrition\, Dr. Preeti Patankar\, Assistant Professor and other staff of Dept. of Food Science and Nutrition. SNDT College of Home Science\, Pune\, Dr. Anjali Bhoite President AFST(I) Pune Chapter\, Ms. Rupa Kanvinde Vice President AFST(I) Pune Chapter. The program was attended by 230 Students and Staff of SNDT College of Home Science\, Pune; MIT ADT College\, Loni; Modern College\, Pune; Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences\, Pune; Vidya Pratishsthan \, Baramati; AFST(I) Members and Industry Members  from Farm to Fork.  \n

DESCRIPTION:As a part of National Nutrition month 2022 celebration\, the department of Food Science and Nutrition organized an intercollegiate Culinary Challenge and Poster competition on  September 24th \, 2022. The topic for the competition was ‘Millets: Power House of Nutrients’.  \nThe students from different colleges and departments from SNDTWU\, Pune campus participated in the competitions. The competition was judged by Smt. Rupa Kanvinde\, Vice President AFSTI Pune chapter\, Smt. Anuja Kinikar HOD Department of FSN\, Dr. Preeti Patankar and Ms. Sugra Poonawala.

The newsletter was unveiled by Hon’ble Madam Vice Chancellor\, Prof. Ujwala Chakradeo on September 30th \, 2022. Prof Sachin Deore\, Principal SNDT College of Home Science\, Pune\, welcomed Madam Vice Chancellor. Ms. Ananya Lele\, member of the खाद्य Fora team narrated the team’s experience of the making of newsletter. Madam Vice Chancellor appreciated this students’ activity and stated that these kinds of initiatives make the students responsible writers. Students should participate in various activities which would shape their personalities.   \nThis program was attended by Dr. Nalini Patil\, Principal SNDT College of Education Pune\, Dr. Subhash Patil\, SNDT College of Arts and Commerce\, Pune Dr. Sheetal More\, Campus Coordinator SNDTWU\, Pune Campus\, teaching\, non-teaching staff and students of SNDT College of Home Science\, Pune.
