SUMMARY:Career Guidance Program in Association with BNI
DESCRIPTION:College conducted a Career Guidance program in association with BNI (Business Networking India\, Business Voices) to orient the students about Business and Job Opportunities having relevance to the specializations offered by SNDT College of Home Science\, Pune on 17th March 2023. On Campus Recruitment drive was also arranged which received good response from the final year students and alumni as the skill based approach of the syllabi of Home Science prepares the students to face the professional set up. Principal Prof. Sachin Deore highlighted importance of conducting such programs to give exposure to the students regarding the professional world. BNI President Mr. Laxmikant Dharashivkar\, Vice President Mr. Yoghesh Dhakne\, Secretary Ar. Shradha Chavan\, Mr. Ashish Joshi\, Mr. Atul Joglekar\, Mrs. Anandini Garg participated in the event.  \n

DESCRIPTION:The college in collaboration with PFNDAI and sponsored by ITC\, Prolicious\, Kellogg’s and Ingredion\, organised a ‘Nutrition Awareness Activity’ on 18th March 2023. The program included an online webinar on ‘Nutritious Grains for Health and Wellness’. The programme also included a E Poster contest on the topic ‘Maintaining Health with Millets’. Our students bagged the first and the third prize and three consolation prizes. \n

The speakers were Ms. Pooja Rathod and Dr. Komal Parmar\, the alumni of the department. The students were introduced to the importance of Vastu Shatra in Designing of any residential space. The students understood the planning of interiors on the basis of Vastu Shastra and received simple tips to improve the feel good factor of the family members. \n

Prof. Ruby Ojha\, Pro Vice Chancellor SNDT Women’s University\, Mumbai was the chairperson for the inaugural session of the workshop. \nThe sessions at the workshop were ‘Introduction to Intellectual Property Rights’ by Mr. Vijay Shivpuje\, ‘Patent Searching’ by Mr. Pushpak Singh and ‘Commercializing Intellectual Property Rights’ by Mr. Vijay Shivpuje.  \nDr. Sunita Jahirabadkar\, Dean R and D\, Department of Engineering\, Cummins College of Engineering for Women\, Pune was the chief guest for the valedictory session. The session was chaired by Dr. Aashish Panat\, Director Incubation\, Innovation and Linkages\, WISE Center SNDT Women’s University\, Mumbai.  \n

DESCRIPTION:‘Human Development’ department of the college runs a Nursery School as its lab school for the students of SY and TY. A Creche\, started by the department was inaugurated at the hands of Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Ujwala Chakradeo on 29th March 2023. She stated that having a good day care center is the need of the hour. The parents can be mentally relaxed when their child is in the safe hands while they areon duty improving their productivity at the workplace. \n
