SUMMARY:Spectrum 2022 – The Annual Gathering
DESCRIPTION:Spectrum 2022\, the annual gathering was organized and celebrated with lot of energy and warmth from 21st to 23rd December 2022 at SNDT College of Home Science\, Pune. \nThe students celebrated Spectrum Days from 14th to 21st December 2022 with variety of themes.  \nThe Spectrum was inaugurated at the hands of Prof. Sachin Deore\, Principal SNDT College of Home Science\, Pune. Dr. Subhash Patil was the chief Guest for the programme by lighting the lamp.  \nIn this mega festival various events and competitions were conducted such as mehendi\, photography\, quiz\, variety entertainment\, cookery competition\, Sanskrita–Miss Home Science. On sports day\, events such as cricket\, tug of war\, treasure hunt\, limbu chamacha and many other sports activities were held.  \nNational Integration Day was celebrated to mark the Indian value of Unity in Diversity.   \nGreen Day was celebrated with environment rally where saplings were planted and the program was marked by creative\, informative and environment safety awareness posters made by the students. Also\, a street play was performed by the students to create awareness amongst people regarding environment safety. \nDuring the Prize Distribution Ceremony the students who excelled in academics\, sports\, cultural activities and NSS were given prizes for their achievements.  \nThe success of the spectrum was marked by the huge participation of the students in all the events and this made the spectrum grand.

The awareness program focussed on health issues and occurrence of Iron deficiency Anaemia. The camp was conducted by Department of Students Development SNDT Women’s University\, Mumbai\, SNDT College of Home Science\, Pune and District Hospital\, Aundh\, Pune. More than 1000 students benefitted from the health camp. \n

Ms. Ananya Lele\, member of the खाद्य Fora team narrated the team’s experience of the making of newsletter. Madam Vice Chancellor appreciated this students’ activity and stated that these kinds of initiatives make the students responsible writers. DESCRIPTION: A workshop on “FSS Act 2006 and Regulations 2011- An Overview” was organized by SNDT College of Home Science\, Pune and AFST (I)\, Pune chapter on September 7th\, 2022 on the occasion of Nutrition month and AFST (I) foundation day. Prof. Sachin Deore\, Principal\, SNDT College of Home science\, Pune welcomed the participants and also highlighted the vision and mission of SNDT Women’s University. Col. Pramod Dahitule\, National Head- Agriculture MSME\, Former Director FSSAI Kolkata\, was the chief guest for the program. He inspired the student by sharing the importance of having a passion and belief in what they are pursuing in education. Mr. M.M Chitale\, a renowned person in the field of food processing was the guest of honor. The program was attended by Dr. S.M. Naikare\, former President of AFST(I) Pune Chapter\, Mr. Pradeep Chordia\, Director CFPL\, Pune\, Dr. Nerkar\, Director Food Testing Laboratory\, Bharti Vidyapeeth\, Pune\,  Mr. Vinay Oswal\, Director NAFARI\, Pune. \nThe speaker Mr. Amrendra Mahamuni\, (Director Samarth Technologies\, Pune. FoSTaC Trainer) in his session elaborated on the FSS Act 2006 and regulations 2011. He also emphasized on the difference in the roles of PFA and FSSAI. A lot of case studies were discussed by the speaker regarding the degree of adulteration seen in India and why the FSS becomes important to make the food safe for the consumers from the farm to fork. \nThe organizing committee included Ms. Anuja Kinikar\, Head\, Dept. of Food Science and Nutrition\, Dr. Preeti Patankar\, Assistant Professor and other staff of Dept. of Food Science and Nutrition. SNDT College of Home Science\, Pune\, Dr. Anjali Bhoite President AFST(I) Pune Chapter\, Ms. Rupa Kanvinde Vice President AFST(I) Pune Chapter. The program was attended by 230 Students and Staff of SNDT College of Home Science\, Pune; MIT ADT College\, Loni; Modern College\, Pune; Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences\, Pune; Vidya Pratishsthan \, Baramati; AFST(I) Members and Industry Members  from Farm to Fork.  \n

DESCRIPTION:As a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav\, an activity of Videshi Kapdyanchi Holi was arranged on 14th August\, 2022 with the aim of refusing foreign clothing and encouraging the use of only swadeshi Indian clothes. The students and staff marched from SNDT Campus to Savarkar Bhavan on Deccan Gymkhana\, carrying Indian flags and singing patriotic songs. Some foreign clothes were burnt symbolically and a pledge- not to use foreign clothes was taken with and intention to promote Indian manufacturing industry which would boost up the Indian economy. \n

Out of 642 participating candidates who got an opportunity to appear for the interviews\, 342 candidates got selected. \n  \nकौशल्य विकास\, रोजगार व उद्योजकता मार्गदर्शन आणि प्रशिक्षण केंद्र\, पुणे आणि एस एन डी टी कॉलेज ऑफ होम सायन्स\, पुणे यांच्या संयुक्त विद्यमाने एस एन डी टी व्यवस्थापन इमारत येथे मंगळवार दिनांक २८ जुन २०२२ रोजी रोजगार मेळाव्याचे आयोजन करण्यात आले होते. मा. अनुपमा पवार\, उपायुक्त कौशल्य विकास\, रोजगार व उद्योजगता विभागीय आयुक्तालय\,पुणे हया यावेळी कार्यक्रमाच्या अध्यक्षस्थानी व उद्घाटक म्हणून उपस्थित होत्या. त्यांनी उद्योजकांना आवाहन केलें की त्यांनी उमेदवारांची उमेद वाढवावी. तसेच त्यांनी रोजगार मेळाव्याचे महत्त्व विषद केले. तरुण पिढीने समाज उपयोगी उपक्रम हिरीरीने राबविण्याचे आवाहन केले. \nसहआयुक्त मा. कविता जावळे यांनी यावेळी मेळाव्या संबंधी शासनाची भूमिका विषद केली. \nप्राचार्य डॉ. मुक्तजा विकास मठकरी\, एस एन डी टी कॉलेज ऑफ होम सायन्स\, पुणे यांनी महाविद्यालयाच्या समाजाभिमुख उपक्रमांतर्गत या मेळाव्यात सहभाग घेतला आहे असे नमूद केले. याप्रसंगी एस एन डी टी कॉलेज ऑफ होम सायन्स महाविद्यायातर्फे समन्वयक प्रा. डॉ प्रीती पाटणकर यांनी आभार मानले. प्रा. अनुजा किणीकर यांनी सूत्रसंचालन केले. \nया मेळाव्यात ३२ कंपन्यांचा सहभाग होता.४\,९३३ रिक्त पदे होती. या मेळाव्यासाठी ६४२ उमेदवार उपस्थित होते व ३५६ उमेदवारांना रोजगार उपलब्ध झाला.

SUMMARY:Yog Day Celebration
DESCRIPTION:‘Yog Divas’ was celebrated on 21st June 2022. International Yoga expert\, Dr. Manali Deo interacted with the students and staff and stressed upon the importance of yoga for good mental and physical health. Students and staff did some yoga exercises under her guidance and instructions. \nOn the same day\, a certificate course in Yoga was inaugurated for a batch of 30 students. The resource person being Dr. Manali Deo. Principal Dr. Muktaja Vikas Mathkari inspired and motivated the students to participate actively in the course.

SUMMARY:NSS Camp
DESCRIPTION:NSS camp was held from 7th June 2022 to 13th June 2022. Advocate Rohini Bodhani inaugurated the camp and also the Green Club and Environment awareness week activities. Dr. Vishnu Shrimangale\, SWACH NGO and the team members from ‘National Centre for Environment Education’ conducted a workshop for the students from 8thJune to 12th June 2022. The students experienced the need of mindful living and a sense of empathy towards every job and individuals employed on those jobs and treat them with respect. \nThis camp gave the students insights on various areas such as environmental awareness\, sapling plantation\, street plays etc. The students planted saplings in the college campus and took care by watering them. \nStudents were taken to a nearby ‘Megacity Community’ where they performed street plays to create awareness regarding waste management and reuse of plastic. Along with waste management\, the students covered various areas under sustainable development such as biodiversity\, water management\, electricity management\, etc. They also taught the children from the community how to create something useful and beautiful using technique of ‘Best out of Waste’. This included techniques like quilling\, preparing bottle stands\, reel stands\, ice cream stick whistles etc. \nDuring the camp the students got an opportunity to interact with an alumnus Miss Krupa Adapawar who is pursuing her Masters in Communication Media for Children from our own SNDT campus. \nNSS camp was a new and reliving experience for students. The camp helped the students in their overall development. NSS PO Dr. L. Bbhagat and Dr. P. Patankar guided the students during the camp. \n

Ms. Hetvi Shah is a 2nd year student of M.Sc. Nutrition and Food Processing and has always had a keen interest in sports and pursued playing Volleyball at Intercollegiate level since 2014. Some of her achievements include Best Sports Woman Award for 2014-2015\, representing SNDTWU at the Interuniversity sports meet in 2017-18 and representing Mumbai suburbs in Maharashtra Interzone State Volleyball championship.

SUMMARY:Staff Welfare Program
DESCRIPTION:As a part of staff welfare\, the staff welfare committee of the college\, under the guidance of Principal Dr. Muktaja Vikas Mathkari\, organized a one day workshop on “Stress Management and Team Building” for the teaching and the non- teaching staff of SNDT College of Home Science on 26th April 2022. The program was arranged at Kolwan\, away from the college premises\, so as to have a relaxing atmosphere and the interaction among the staff would be possible in a stress free environment. \nShri Ashish Joshi\, Corporate trainer was the resource person for the workshop. He conducted activity based sessions on understanding stress\, stressors\, and the ways to deal with stress. Activities underlining the importance of working in a team were thoroughly enjoyed by the staff. \nThe sessions were thoroughly enjoyed by all staff members.
