He shared his views and thoughts on the topic ‘Indian Constitution and Parliamentary Democracy’. While speaking on this topic he elaborated on the ‘Mutual Relationship between Indian Constitution and Democracy’. He also mentioned that Indian democracy would be known as a very strong and prosperous democracy in the next few years and India would become a ‘super power’. The program gave an opportunity to the students to express themselves and it was attended by 60 students\, few attended online. Mrs. F.Z Tarapore\, the founder principal of the college was the chief guest for the program. She interacted with the students on this occasion and guided them as to how the Home Science graduates can take part in the government run programs for the betterment of Women and Children. SUMMARY:National Science Day Celebration
DESCRIPTION:National Science Day was celebrated on 28th February 2022. A competition was organized for the students. Participants had to make original video of application of science in everyday life/ activities. There was a good response and participation for the competition. Anushka Sahasrabuddhe of FY BSc (ND) won the first prize for her entry “Application of Fingerprint Technology in Our Lives”. \nAn online lecture and presentation was also organized for students and teachers. The speaker\, Smt Shraddha A Belambe spoke about the significance of National Science Day and prominent Indian scientists and their contribution to different spheres of science. Her session also included videos showing application of science in daily life. \n

From the second term of Academic year 2021-22\, the students have started attending college offline. \nPrincipal Dr. Muktaja Vikas Mathkari had an interaction ‘Frooti with Princi’ with the under graduate and Post graduate students on 25th February\, 2022. The interaction was an informal talk between the Principal and students. The students were served with Frooti and cake. The students performed few songs in the memory of late Smt. Lata Mangeshkar. \nPrize Distribution ceremony was also conducted online.

The theme of the conference was “Rethinking Humanities: Harmonizing Humanities and Science”. Prof. Ujwala Chakradeo\, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor\, SNDT Women’s University was the Guest of Honour for the conference. Keynote address was delivered by Prof. Ami Upadhyay\, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor\, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University\, Gujarat. Prof. Bhushan Patwardhan (former Vice Chairman UGC\, National Research Professor – Ayush Interdisciplinary School of Health Sciences SPPU) was the speaker for the technical session. Dr Muktaja Vikas Mathkari\, Principal\, SNDT College of Home Science\, Pune was the Convener of the Conference. Dr Sonali Rode\, Joint Director Higher Education Mumbai Division\, Mumbai gave the Valedictory speech. \nTwenty four research papers were presented in the conference on a wide range of topics related to the theme of the Conference by participants from different states across India. A special Issue of Journal “Research Chronicler” (A Peer Reviewed\, Refereed and Indexed International Multidisciplinary Research Journal) was released virtually. \n

Internationally placed alumni- Ms. Sunita Date (Tasmania)\, Ms. Sumedha Mulye (Auckland) and Ms. Tanvi Phadnis (Sydney) interacted with the final year B.Sc. and M.Sc. students. \nThe alumni guided the students regarding the problems and challenges faced in the path taken by them for higher education overseas. They narrated their success stories. Students participated in the webinar with lot of enthusiasm and were very curious about the procedure to be followed for applying to foreign Universities. The webinar was well received by the students.
