A total of 15 students of M.Sc. Clinical Nutrition Dietetics attended the conference. The sessions of the conference were by Scientists and senior nutritionists from prestigious organizations such as National Institute of Nutrition\, FSSAI\, Sikkim University etc. Two students (Saloni Nevgi and Himani Yakkundi) presented their research abstracts as an e-poster and their work was appreciated by the judges and scientific committee of NHRC. \n

DESCRIPTION:Spectrum January 2025\, the much-anticipated annual event\, took place from January 10th to 13th at SNDT College of Home Science\, Pune\, with an abundance of enthusiasm and warmth. The students celebrated Spectrum Days from January 10th\, 2024\, to January 18th\, 2025\, through a range of themed days such as National Integration Day\, Green Day\, Bollywood Day\, Saree Day\, and Twins/Group Day. The event was officially inaugurated by Dr. Parag Kalkar\, Pro-Vice Chancellor at Savitribai Phule Pune University\, who guided students with his motivating speech and Dr. Ganesh Chavan welcomed the guest with speech following the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. This grand celebration was held at the Smt. F. Z.Tarapore Hall on the college campus. The event featured a variety of activities and competitions\, including the Traditional Attire Fashion Show\, Mehendi/Rangoli competition\,Cookery Contest\, Environment Awareness Rally\, Edu Quiz\, Edu Elocution\, EduEssay Writing\, and a range of sports events (athletics\, tug of war\, dodgeball\, cricket). Additionally\, the Entrepreneurship Mela\, Reel Making competition\, Miss Home Science (Sanskriti In the sports section\, cricket\, tug of war\, and several other activities took center stage. National Integration Day was observed to emphasize the Indian value of Unity in Diversity\, while Green Day focused on environmental awarenessthrough an informative rally and student-created posters promoting eco-friendly practices. The Prize Distribution Ceremony was graced by Prof.Bharat S. Vhankate as the Chief Guest\, where students who excelled in academics\, sports\, cultural events\, and NSS were honoured for their remarkable achievements. The event proved to be a truly engaging experience\, offering students a platform to exhibit their talents while taking a welcome break from their daily routines. DESCRIPTION:The Department of Food Science and Nutrition of SNDT College of Home Science Pune had organized Health and Nutrition Assessment Camp for the teaching and non-teaching staff of the SNDTWU Pune campus on 19th December 2024. \nThe camp was Inaugurated at the hands of Mr. Vikas Desai Finance and Accounts officer of SNDTWU. Principal Dr. Ganesh Chavan welcomed and briefed everyone about this endeavour. The other dignitaries Dr. Vilas Nandawadekar Registrar SNDTWU\, Prof. Nirgude Senate Member\, Prof. Sheetal More Coordinator SNDTWU Pune Campus and Management Council Member\, Dr. Nalini Patil Director CHETNA appreciated the students efforts and encouraged them to take up many more such activities in future too. The event was also attended by Heads of departments and institutes\, teaching and non– teaching staff of various institutes of the campus. \nThe camp included measurement of height\, weight\, body fat\, BMI\, Blood pressure.  \nAn activity called Know Your Tiffin was also conducted for the visitors. The visitors were treated with healthy carrot and pumpkin soup and ragi moongdal ladoos made by the students \nAlong with the camp students also had a small food exhibition where they had put healthy foods for sale\, which were developed by them. The products were highly appreciated by all. \nThe camp was very well received and appreciated by everyone. \n            \n

DESCRIPTION:A lecture on Net Zero Campus was organized on 29th November 2024 by SNDT College of Home Science Pune in association with The Eco Factory Foundation. The speaker for the program was Mr. Anand Chordia\, Director- Technical and Innovation\, Suhana Pravin Masalewale\, Founder- The Eco Factory Foundation. \nProf. Sachin Deore\, Director of Environment and Sustainability Centre\, SNDTWU briefed about Green Campus initiatives and how this initiative has to reach the staff and the students. The collaborative work with TEFF to make the campus green and achieve a Net Zero Waste Campus requires the full support and involvement of all the staff and students of the campus. \nMr. Anand Chordia shared the case study of India’s first Net Zero Warehouse of Suhana at Bhuleshwar and how they have turned their nine industries into Zero waste industries. The same can be achieved at Pune campus. He emphasized that a pilot Project Sanvardhan has been initiated with SNDT College Home Science Pune which is showing fruitful results and can be scaled up on the entire campus. If there is wholehearted involvement and contribution from all the stakeholders\, SNDTWU Pune campus can be the pioneer in achieving NET ZERO Campus in India. \nDr. Ganesh Chavan\, Principal\, SNDT College of Home Science\, in his concluding remarks\, reemphasized the success of projects in association with Suhana and TEFF and assured the participation of staff and students in upcoming activities. As a step towards making Campus Zero Waste ‘Plogathon’ can be arranged to orient and encourage the students to segregate the waste and discard the same in the right manner. SUMMARY:Display of Aesthetic Accessories: Exploring Creativity\, Design and Expression
DESCRIPTION:Art and design are two creative disciplines that are often intertwined but serve distinct purposes. While both involve creativity\, expression\, and aesthetics\, their objectives and methods can vary greatly. As a part of academic curriculum\, FY.BSc students organized a fair on 23rd October\, 2024 displaying unique\, attractive and diy art work using various materials to make quilling art\, pen stand\, wall hanging\, canvas painting\, light lamp\, crochet flowers\, desk organizer and many such creative accessories under the Design & Aesthetics subject offered by Department of Resource Management.  A total of 70 students came together to showcase their talents with great enthusiasm. \nThe display was inaugurated by Principal Dr. Ganesh Chavan who appreciated the good work done by the students and celebrated not only the art on display\, but also the dedication\, passion and creativity of our young minds.

The exhibition showcased the creative works of the students. Dr. Ganesh Chavan\, Principal \, SNDT College of Home Science inaugurated the exhibition. He appreciated the students work and mentioned that as Home science education largely focuses on hands-on activities\, practicals\, and skill development\, many of the creative works produced through this education have the potential to be patented. If these creations are commercialized\, they will have even greater financial value. The exhibition was organised under the leadership of Dr. Lalieetaa Bbhagat Head of these two departments. The exhibition was visited by staff\, students\, parents\, and distinguished guests from the Pune campus and surrounding areas. \n

DESCRIPTION:The Department of Human Development at SNDT College of Home Science organised a “One Day Fun School” for preschool parents on 19th October 2024. The event was inaugurated by our esteemed Principal\, Dr. Ganesh Chavan. The program featured an exhibition showcasing teaching materials and various activities created by students of B.Sc. Human Development. These resources were specifically designed to facilitate holistic development in preschool children. The displays included sensory activities\, art projects\, and educational games that promote cognitive\, emotional\, and physical development. fun games and activities were organised for preschool children. These games were strategically designed to enhance skills such as teamwork\, problem-solving\, and motor coordination\, all while ensuring a fun and engaging experience for the children. Two informative lectures were arranged for parents\, focusing on child nutrition and the importance of preschool education. The event attracted a large number of parents\, and bothchildren and parents actively participated in the program. Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive\, indicating that the program was aresounding success. One Day Fun School was a remarkable success\, achieving itsobjectives of fostering parental engagement and promoting holistic development for preschool children. The event not only provided valuable resources and knowledge to parents but also created a joyful atmosphere for children to learn and play together. \n

It helped students to understand various plants to be placed indoors and outdoors with its benefits through a detailed discussion. Ms. Neha Joshi was the resource person for the same. \n

DESCRIPTION:World Architecture Day\, celebrated on the first Monday of October each year\, is a global observance that honors the vital role of architecture in shaping the built environment and\, by extension\, our daily lives. \nThe students of RM Department celebrated this day on 7th October 2024\, through an innovative idea of displaying rich heritage of Indian monuments and glorifying the designs\, patterns and structural features of each state. The SY and TY students contributed in this event and collected the information which was transferred into a QR code and a display of Indian map was put up at the entrance lobby of SNDT College of Home Science\, Pune.  \nPrincipal Dr. Vrushali Nagarale (Addl. Charge) and Head of the Department Mrs. Anuja Kinikar along with the teaching faculty appreciated the efforts that had gone into making the event a big success. \n  \n \n

SUMMARY:Orientation lecture on Understanding Entrepreneurship
DESCRIPTION:On 4th October 2024 an orientation lecture on ‘Understanding Entrepreneurship’ was conducted by ‘DeAsra’ for the students of SNDT College of Home Science.‘DeAsra is a foundation started by Dr.Anand Deshpande which helps easy running of small businesses. The platform simplifies the aspects of starting\, managing and growing of the small business. The resource person Mrs. Manisha Tapaswi made the orientation feel so friendly yet so professional for our students. More than 200 students registered and attended the orientation. The Principal Dr. Vrushali Nagarale welcomed the guests and highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship. The orientation program helped the students to identify their sparks of being an entrepreneur and to identify their future’s path. The fun problems in business how to classify and overcome them with the basic human nature made the program engaging.  The success stories of small businesses reaching heights surely made a positive impact on the students inspiring to be the entrepreneurs and job creators. \n

SUMMARY:National Nutrition Month Celebration
DESCRIPTION:National Nutrition Month 2024 was celebrated with great enthusiasm to raise awareness about the importance of healthy eating and active living. Focus areas for Rashtriya Poshan Maah\, 2024 were Anaemia\, Growth Monitoring\, Complementary Feeding\, Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi (PBPB)\, Technology for better governance\, transparency and efficient service delivery including other general areas such as; Breastfeeding\, First 1000 days\, Yoga for Health etc. Various engaging activities were organized by the department of Food Science and Nutrition at SNDT College of home Science to promote nutrition education among the students. \nOn 23rd  September 2024\, a cooking competition was arranged to feature participants preparing nutritious beverages\, chutneys and dips using locally sourced ingredients. The emphasis was on creativity and health benefits. A panel of judges evaluated the dishes based on taste\, presentation and nutritional value. Winners received certificates\, fostering a spirit of healthy cooking in the community. \nOn the same day E- Poster making competition was also conducted to encourage participants to creatively express their understanding of Complementary feeding and Importance of nutrition in Anaemia. Students submitted digital posters that focused on two themes namely\, “Importance of Complementary Feeding” and “Combating Anaemia”. edition of the departmental e-newsletter\, “Khadyafora”\, promoting awareness beyond the event. Interesting Nutritional games were made by the students  \nbased on themes like\, Anaemia; Complementary Feeding and Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi to create awareness among the other students as well as staff members. \nStreet play competition was arranged on 24th September\, 2024 based on the themes of Anaemia\, Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi and Complementary feeding. Some vibrant street plays were performed by the students\, highlighting the significance of balanced diets and the consequences of poor nutrition. The performance attracted a large audience\, effectively conveying messages about healthy food choices and lifestyle habits. A panel of judges evaluated the plays based on various parameters and chose the winners. \nOn 25th September 2024\,  a seminar was organized by the department of Food Science and Nutrition at SNDT College of Home Science\, Pune focusing on the topics: “The First 1000 Days of Life”; “Human Milk Banking” and “Scope of Lactation Counsellor”\, to spread more knowledge about these areas. The session on “The First 1000 Days of Life” was taken by Ms. Vaishali Madkaikar\, Pediatric Nutritionist\, while the speaker for the other two sessions was Ms. Amrita Desai\, Lactation consultant. \nThe celebration of National Nutrition Month 2024 successfully engaged participants and highlighted the importance of nutrition in everyday life. The combination of performances\, competitions\, and nutrition awareness activities not only educated attendees but also inspired them to make healthier choices.

DESCRIPTION:National Nutrition Month was celebrated in the community on 20th and 21st September 2024\, by students from SNDT College of Home Science Pune in collaboration with Tara Mobile Creches (TMC) and Nutrition Society of India Pune Chapter. M.Sc. Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics students participated in this activity. Students conducted activities such as interactive posters\, drama/street play and fun games to explain anemia\, age-appropriate nutrition for children\, the importance of IYCF practices\, etc. in the daycare centers at construction sites in Pune adopted by TMC. \n
