College conducted ‘Intergenerational Solidarity Program Awareness’ campaigns\, performances of Street plays\, skill activities\, educational and developmental activities\, recreational activities\, research activities for the old age home inmates\, Ambi village school children and villagers\, Panshet School children and villagers. \n

SUMMARY:Spectrum January 2024 – The Annual Gathering
DESCRIPTION:Spectrum January 2024\, the annual gathering was organized and celebrated with lots of energy and warmth from 29th January to 31st January 2024 at SNDT College of Home Science\, Pune. The students celebrated Spectrum Days from 16th January 2024 to 25th January 2024 with a variety of themes (Green\, Glitz & Glam; Bollywood\, OTT\, Batch theme\, Saree and National Integration day). The Spectrum was inaugurated at the hands of Prof. Sachin Deore\, Principal. After the lighting of the lamp a welcome speech was given by the Principal. The event was held in the Smt. F. Z. Tarapore Hall of our college. In this mega festival various events and competitions were conducted such as mehendi\, photography\, travel vlog\, variety entertainment\, cookery competition\, Sanskrita – Miss Home Science\, fun fair and Sports. In sports ceremonies\, events such as cricket\, tug of war\, and many other sports activities were held. National Integration Day was celebrated to mark the Indian value of Unity in Diversity Green Day was celebrated with an environment rally\, the program was marked by creative\, informative and environment safety awareness posters made by the students. A street play competition was also held during environment rally. During the Prize Distribution Ceremony Ms. Payal Jadhav\, Actress was the Chief Guest and the students who excelled in academics\, sports\, cultural activities and NSS were given prizes for their achievements. The event was genuinely captivating. Students were thrilled because Spectrum provides them with a stage on which to showcase their abilities and take a break from their everyday schedule. Students are given many opportunities to explore their talents\, and these kinds of activities keep them engaged\, inspired\, and self-assured. \n

SUMMARY:Skill Enhancement Certificate Course in Interior Model Making and Rendering
DESCRIPTION:A Skill Enhancement Certificate Course in ‘Interior Model Making and Rendering Techniques’ was organized by the department of Resource Management from 16th January 2024 to 20th January 2024 for the final year students of Interior Space Design. Architect Mr. Sunil Mestry was the resource person for the same.  \nThe students prepared miniature models of various residential and commercial spaces and learnt the effective use of available space to create effective and efficient Interior Design. They also learnt how various textures can be created in the models prepared by them to bring in reality. This training and experience would create entrepreneurial opportunities for the students in future.  \nThe Interior Models prepared by the students were displayed in the lab. The Certificates of completion of this course were distributed at hands of Principal\, Prof Sachin Deore and the Marathi movie star Ms. Payal Jadhav.  \n

The weeklong Deeksharambhprogram\, (from 4th September to 9th September 2023) included lectures and visits to the colleges in the SNDT Women’s University Campus\, Pune. \nProf. Sachin Deore (Principal\, Addl. Charge) briefed the audience about the University and the difference between SNDT Women’s University and other Universities. Dr. Vrushali Nagarale (Admission Committee In-charge) explained the importance and objectives of arranging various lectures and visits to the various institutes on the campus.  \nMs. Anuja Bhise briefed about NSS\, Ms. Tisha Oswal spoke about Sports and Ms. Himani Yakkundi shared her experiences of the cultural events and Annual gathering (Spectrum) program. DESCRIPTION:National Nutrition Month \nNational Nutrition Month was celebrated throughout September 2023 in the community by students from SNDT College of Home Science Pune in collaboration with Tara Mobile Creches (TMC) and Nutrition Society of India Pune Chapter. Students from department of Food Science and Nutrition enthusiastically conducted ‘Nutrition education through play and entertainment’ in the day-care centres at construction sites in Pune adopted by TMC. 32 students from M.Sc. DESCRIPTION:SNDT College of Home Science Pune chapter in collaboration with the Anusandhan trust’s Sathi (Support for Advocacy and Training to Health Initiative) participated in the World Breastfeeding Week activity. Students from department of Food Science and Nutrition actively participated in the meetings at community centres along with ArogyaSathi from Sathi. Students discussed the Benefits of breastfeeding to babies\, Galactagogues\, Healthy plate for lactating women\, Complementary foods: Food square for babies aged 6 months and above with the help of informative posters. 22 students from M.Sc. Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics participated in this activity in the month of August 2023.

DESCRIPTION:A program MERI MATI MERA DESH was organised on 14th August 2023. The students planted saplings near the college building and participated in a rally along with the teachers in the campus. Students performed street plays\, sung patriotic songs and poems. The contribution of freedom fighters for India’s independence was narrated through speeches. The chief guest\,  Dr. Vilas Nandavdekar\, Principal Prof Sachin Deore addressed the students on this occasion.  \n

DESCRIPTION:The Ministry of Food Processing Industries\, Govt of India\, in association with All India Food Processors Association\, AFSTI Pune Chapter \,CASMB and SNDT College of Home Science Pune SNDTWU organized Pune Millets Mela on 12th July 2023 at the Janaki Devi Bajaj Institute of Management and Research\, SNDT Women’s University Pune Campus. \nThe event was Inaugurated & addressed By Smt. Anita Praveen\, Secretary\, MoFPI GOI\, Sh. Sunil Chavan\, Agriculture Commissioner\, GOMH\, Dr. Raghav Jadli\, President\, AIFPA\, & Sh. M.A. Tejani\, Former President\, AIFPA & M.D Gits Food Products. \nProf. Sachin Deore\, Principal Addl. Charge welcomed the guests and briefed the audience about the SNDT Women’s University and also delivered the theme address. \nExcellent Technical Sessions were delivered by experts from Regulatory Officer\, Nutritionist\, Technology and Processing Sector. \nPMFME Schemes were highlighted through officials of State Nodal Agency\, Maharashtra. As well as the beneficiaries of scheme shared their experiences. \nOver 400 registration were received and 25 stalls exhibited products made from Millets. Students of SNDT College of Home Science Pune performed street plays for creating awareness about consumption and benefits of millets . \nThe students of SNDT College of Home Science also put up a stall and served millets based products. \nThe students efforts were highly appreciated by the visiting officials. \n

The Principal\, Prof Sachin Deore welcomed the students and briefed about the history of the University and College. He further gave an overview about the co-curricular and extra- curricular activities of students could participate for the overall holistic development. He also briefed the students about the National Education Policy and the preparedness of the college towards its implementation.  \nThe students and parents were oriented about attendance rules and different committees like Timetable\, Youth forum\, Internal Complaint Committee\, Grievance Committee\, Anti-Ragging committee\, Counselling\, NSS\, Examination\, etc. The HODs of various departments briefed the students about the program and course objectives\, opportunities for higher studies and career opportunities in the respective specializations.  \n
