On the auspicious occasion of Rakshabandhan SNDT College of Home Science Pune organized the Vruksh Bandhan activity on 12th August, 2025. The Vruksha- bandhan activity was celebrated in an eco-friendly way by promoting love and care for nature. Instead of tying rakhis to people, participants tied hand-made, biodegradable rakhis to trees within the college campus. The symbolic gesture represented a promise to protect, nurture, and conserve trees as our ‘green siblings’. 

The event began with a short awareness talk on the importance of trees in combating climate change and maintaining ecological balance. NSS volunteers prepared rakhis from eco-friendly materials such as paper, thread, and natural colours. Students then tied these rakhis to various trees, taking a pledge to safeguard them from harm and contribute towards a greener future.
