Dr. Amar Maruti Dhere qualified for the UGC-NET examination in Environmental Science in 2004. His post-graduate studies and research degrees (Ph.D.) were in the fields of Environmental Science and Sociology. Beginning to career he worked at Indira College of Commerce and Science, Pune (Affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University) from December 2007 to February, 2014. Later he joined SVT College of Home Science, SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai and there he worked from February 2014 till August 2022. Thereafter he working with the SNDT College of Home Science, Pune. His contributions include 20 books, 51 research articles, 2 student manuals and 3 monographs in the Science and Social Sciences disciplines. Many universities use his publications as references for a wide range of subject syllabuses. In Scopus and Web of Sciences, his articles are cited frequently. He own two Copy Rights from Intellectual Property Organisation, Govt. of India. The Savitribai Phule Pune University has awarded Dr. Amar Dhere a Young Scientist Travel Grant Fellowship. He represented India at International Conference on Water Informatics, Sustainable and Environment Organised by Ottawa Assembly Knowledge and Science Target, Ottawa, Canada in August, 2019. As a resource person, he presented at the User Interaction Meeting 2019 organized by NRSC-ISRO, Hyderabad. A best paper presentation award was presented to him at an international conference in Beijing, China in 2013. The Ministry of Urban Development recognized SamEco City as a Smart+Ecological City model. Several non-governmental agencies in India have appointed him as an advisory member. In addition to completing 12 MOOCs and more than 100 online certificates, he is passionate about ICT enabled teaching and learning. His contribution to science and society earned him membership in the American Chemical Society.
