On the day of 12^th August 2025 SNDT College Of Home Science, Pune commemorated the 105^th death anniversary of the great industrialist, philanthropist and pioneer of women’s education Sir Vitthaldas Thackersey. In loving memory of his mother he made a generous donation that led to the establishment of Shreemati Nathibai Damoder Thackersey Women’s University in Pune and played a vital role in the formation of Home Science college only for women.

On that day Respected Principal sir Dr. Ganesh Chavan, all teaching and non-teaching staff and student volunteers of home science gave a floral tribute to a photo of Sir Vitthaldas Thackersey. It honoured his immense contribution to women’s education and the foundation of SNDT Women’s University.
